  • Since there is no fixed standard for headphone connections, there are two cables in the box, with different polarity. If one cable does not give good audio results, try the other cable. This usually solves the problem. The majority of phone models (Apple, Samsung from Galaxy S2 model, LG, HTC, Sony, Motorola, Blackberry) require the audio cable with the silver plugs. Pin assignment in this cable from the tip of the plug: R/L/Ground/Microphone. However, some manufacturers, such as some models from Nokia, require a cable with different pin assignment, (R/L/Microphone/Ground). In this case, you should use the audio cable with the black plugs.
  • The Frequency response for the Citation series, except the subwoofer, is 50Hz to 20Khz.

  • The EQ Button activates a special "wide stereo sound" effect. It does not affect bass settings. Turning EQ On/Off does not reset bass level to default value. User can adjust BASS in the Bass +/- control in the APP.

  • The Vi headphones have a couple different sensors, including a touch sensor (for interacting with Vi), a gyroscope (for rotational motion), accelerometer (for movement or vibrations) and a barometer (for elevation / atmospheric pressure). Plus they house a “custom” sensor that uses visible-light and infrared LEDs along with photodiodes, all in the left ear bud, to determine your heart rate. The headphones can also talk to your iPhone/Android's GPS and Wi-Fi to help with figuring out location and other information.
  • The Harman Kardon Wireless HD Audio System uses UDP ports 6060 and 6080.
  • To have the best possible performance for OMNI+ system we advise to have a dual-band router with a powerful chipset and ram for best Wi-Fi performance. This will not only help our products to perform better and more stable, but your other devices at home will have more power and fewer interruptions. Please also be sure that your home Wi-Fi router has Multicast enabled, as our Omni+ system requires this feature enabled in order to work (same goes for Chromecast devices). Always connect our Omni+ system to 5 GHz Wi-Fi whenever possible to limit the risk of devices being slow or interrupted on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  • If you are having trouble with distortion or drop outs, try the following suggestions: 1. Move the audio source closer to the speakers. 2. Move the speakers closer to each other. 3. Make sure only one of the two speakers are connected to the audio source. If both are connected to the audio source, disconnect the connection between the audio source and the second speaker. 4. Make sure the audio source connects with one streaming speaker only, disconnect other Bluetooth connection. 5. Restart both your speakers and the audio source. 6. Make sure the environment is not congested by other wireless signals.
  • Let's run through some basic check marks to ensure we didn't miss anything while setting up your device.
    1. Your Citation device is turned on power on
    2. Check the password you have entered, and re-enter it again (typos can happen).
    3. Make sure your mobile device has the initial support needed:
      1. Android 4.4 OS and higher
      2. Apple iOS 10 OS and higher
      3. The latest version of Google Home app gh
    4. Your phone needs Bluetooth to be on User-added image
    5. Enable Location Service locatin(Android only)
    6. Plus you need to permit Google Home app gh to access your location on the phone (Android only).

The basic check is done, and we are now moving into your Wireless network setup.

    1. Try moving your speaker closer to the Wireless network router ONE 5 m distance Wifi router
    2. Have you previously connected the speaker to your WiFi network?  If yes, look below or move to "Troubleshooting"
      1. Did you recently make any changes to your network, such as buying a new router, adding an extender, or maybe changed settings?
      2. Maybe your ISP (Internet Service Provider) did some changes, possibly even updating your Wireless router software.

If you still are experiencing issues connecting the device to your Wireless network, let's do some further troubleshooting.

    Troubleshooting

    1. Your WiFi router might need a reboot, unplug power for 1 minute and connect power again.
      1. While you are rebooting your WiFi router, we advise doing the same for your speaker. Simply disconnect power and reconnect power again.
      2. In case rebooting the speaker didn't work, let's try resetting your speaker by pressing the Reset Button reset button for 5 seconds (Front LED will light up).
    2. Go ahead with the setup again (remember to open Google Home app gh)
    3. Reboot your mobile device mobile device

    WiFi Network Troubleshooting

    • Check your WiFi router settings. Be sure that UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is enabled.
    • Change Wireless channels on your WiFi router on 2.4G or 5G..
      • Avoid using other channels on 2.4G other than 1, 6 and 11. The rest are a NO-GO.
      • Keep a maximum of 8 devices in total on 2.4G (that is including our speakers).
      • Move products to WiFi 5G band, if they support it, to reduce the stress factor on the 2.4G band
    • Check your WiFi router to see if there is a MAC address limitation.
      • MAC address limitation is when your router is set/fixed to a maximum of 20 devices (or whatever it may have been configured for).
      • When you want to add the 21st device your router will deny access because you have filled up the 20 devices.
      • You need to clear or delete old devices that are not in use anymore. This may require someone with technical knowledge.
      • We advise that you don't have any MAC address limitations at all.
    • Avoid bad extenders (Cheap ones are often not powerful enough to deal with or handle the kind of data required to transmit high quality audio).
      • With extenders, the connection between "router and extender" is decreased by 50%.  That said, your data will be even slower,. having to processes it while the speed is decreased.
There are more things you can do to optimize your WiFi router, but these above are the most common issues happening in users homes.

  • When the speaker is switching quickly between music sources via Bluetooth, it's normal to experience a very short 'pop' sound because the Bluetooth signal is breaking in and doing the handshake with the speaker. It won't appear after the Bluetooth signal is stable.
  • Please note that the LFE Trim function is only active with surround source signals that feature a separate LFE track for the subwoofer. It does not affect subwoofer level when playing stereo or mono.
  • When out in the world, on the beach, in a park, etc., the ALEXA feature will not work because the unit will not be connected to the internet via wi-fi. You can connect it to a wi-fi hotspot on a phone, if you like, or you can use it as a portable Bluetooth speaker.
  • To set up the Harman Kardon Adapt in the HK Controller app, you have to select "One speaker", not the Adapt+ option. When selecting "One speaker", simply follow the on-screen instructions to install your Adapt on the Wi-Fi network. Note that the instructions for Adapt devices will appear on your screen after 30-45 seconds (Only Apple devices).
  • If you only hear sound from one speaker in an MRM group, skip to the next song. After this, both speakers should play music correctly. You can then go back to the first song or continue playing where you left off.

  • Please check the picture settings on your cable box, particularly the aspect ratio settings, which will vary depending on the brand and model of your cable box and on your local cable provider. You may wish to consult with your cable provider for more information on how to adjust the cable box's settings. Some settings, such as a setting to force an analog channel's native 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 widescreen to fit your display, may interfere with the cable system's copy-protection feature and cause distortion.
  • This is caused by the volume synchronizaton system in the iPad. When you switch off the iPad with click sounds activated, it sends the click sound to the Go+Play, also ordering the Go+Play to increase volume to maximum. The hiss is a result of the Go+Play Wireless being at full volume. As soon as you re-start your music playing from the iPad, volume is back to normal music use. If you do not switch the iPad on again, the Go+Play goes into standby after a few minutes, and the hiss disappears. You can prevent this problem by de-activating the click/alarm sounds on the iPad.
  • The order of tracks and folders on your USB stick will not be listed in alphabetical order. The sequence of the tracks or folders will be listed based on the number and types of tracks in the folders.
  • Yes, after half an hour of inactivity, and provided Bluetooth pairing has been interrupted, Aura goes into full Standby. Now the wi-fi control light will no longer blink.
  • This is not an error. The App links to the Harman Kardon website when the "?" Button is tapped. User can then search the Quick Start Guide or Owner's Manual on the website.
  • If you see this message, you must download the Device Utility app from the Google Play Store. Follow the instructions in the app to activate your speaker, and then return to the Google Home app to complete the setup.

  • The source device may need to be in Standby, not just stopped, for the Soundbar to go into Standby mode using the optical or coaxial inputs.
  • If the network does not appear, you can manually type in the network name (SSID) and password to connect.

  • For OMNI BAR+, three sources are available: HDMI (not applicable for ADAPT+), Optical or AUX input. For Adapt+ two sources are available: Optical in/outputs and Analog in/outputs. If you select "Watching movies and TV shows" in the HK controller app for either one of them, you will have a very little delay and good lip sync with the TV for video applications. However, you will not be able to rebroadcast the TV signal to other OMNI+ speakers when selecting this mode. If you select "Listening to music", you will be able to rebroadcast TV signal to other OMNI+ speakers in your house, however, you will have lip sync delay with video material. Select that specific mode if you use HDMI (not applicable for ADAPT+), Optical or AUX for music only. Using Chromecast, Spotify Connect or Bluetooth is not part of these modes. When using one of these streaming methods, you are able to rebroadcast any music source.

  • The remote is only capable of operating one device at a time (unless you have programmed advanced functions such as Volume, Channel or Transport control Punch-Through). When you press the Source Selector to operate your other product, such as the DVD player, the remote cannot control any other product, including the AVR, until you press the AVR Button again. To avoid your problem in the future, always press the AVR Button or appropriate Source Selector before you enter any command.
  • This speaker has an auto calibration feature, which measures the space around the speaker and adjusts the sound quality based on the room around it. Auto calibration will automatically work when you power on the speaker and begin playing music. For the best sound, we recommend placing the speaker at least 18 inches (0.5 meters) away from any walls.

  • When placing speakers close to a wall, bass level increases. For more bass, place the speaker in a corner if possible, and for less bass, try to place the speaker farther away from any walls.
  • If you have a mesh network (more commonly seen in Eero Mesh networks), it is possible that you may experience your satellite speakers or subwoofer intermittently disconnecting from the soundbar. This is similar to normal interference that occurs with products on a similar wireless frequency. The special thing about Eero mesh networks is that they do not allow you to move a device to the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz band. The system will automatically decide which devices should be on which band and will move them accordingly (switching whenever needed). Some of our soundbars run on a 5Ghz frequency which is where the interference can occur. Since we cannot change the signal in which they operate and we cannot change the band they are connected to via their Eero mesh network, there are a few things you can do to try and stop this from occurring.

    1. Move the mesh nodes far away from the soundbar
    2. Use the 2.4Ghz band instead of the 5Ghz band (if your mesh system allows this)
    3. Ensure to enable/utilize the MU-MIMO setting (not applicable to all mesh systems). Please refer to your router's website to see if MU-MIMO is being utilized by default.

    What is MU-MIMO?

MU-MIMO stands for Multi-User, Multi-Input, Multi-Output. This allows for the router to send a signal to multiple devices at one time vs. the previous version in which the router would be able to connect to multiple devices, but only send the signal to one device at a time.

NOTE: You may notice that when the soundbar is turned on, there may be a dip in the immediate internet speed, but it will go back to normal within less than a minute.

  • This is considered as extra equipment
  • Using Wi-Fi allows you to listen to your music in a higher sound quality since Bluetooth protocol compresses the audio signal, where Wi-Fi data easily stream HD Audio content. Take calls without interrupting your current audio music, where Bluetooth will interrupt the stream, because it is a one-way protocol. Control your music from anywhere in the house, where Bluetooth have a limited range. Play the same music across multiple speakers and when using the newest connect features, such as Spotify Connect or Chromecast built-in, then you don't have to worry about battery life, since the devices playing is doing all the data transmission compared to Bluetooth, where it is data between source and device.
  • Yes, they will work together. You can link rooms containing 1st generation Omni speakers with rooms containing 2nd generation Omni speakers and listen to the same music across all of them. Since the 2nd generation has a more powerful processor, we recommend connecting external sources like AUX or Bluetooth to the 2nd generation speakers rather than the 1st generation.
  • Yes. Just connect an Adapt to your existing Hi-Fi equipment or active speaker via the 3.5mm line out port to transform any speaker into a wireless speaker in the Harman Kardon Wireless HD Audio System
  • Yes, they are backward compatible with your existing Omni speakers.
  • Yes, our OMNI BAR+ supports standard CEC features such a wake-up and volume control via HDMI. Optical and analog input signals can wake up the Omni Bar, but if the source signal is too weak, the OMNI BAR+ will not wake up.
  • Yes, through Bluetooth restreaming. Tracks made available offline in Apple Music are DRM protected and are not playable in the Harman Kardon Controller app. To play these tracks, or any other Apple Music tracks, first connect to any Omni speaker via Bluetooth and then restream to the other Omni speakers in your house with the Link button, or by grouping different rooms in the Controller app. We are looking into the possibility of adding direct support for Apple Music, so check back for updates.
