  • Three things to know about Bluetooth (BT)… 
     
    1. Pairing:  Pairing is like creating a new contact in your phone’s Contacts list.  You have to do a little bit of work to create the contact, but once you do, connecting with that person in the future is fast and easy. 

    Let’s put this in terms of phones and speakers (or headphones).  Your phone needs to become acquainted with your speaker.  This is called pairing. 

    NOTE: Throughout this article, we will talk about your phone. However, it applies the same to tablets, laptops, computers and any other Bluetooth (BT) source device.
     
    To get this started, you have to put the speaker into pairing mode. You may have to press a few buttons to make this happen.  All speakers work a little differently, but generally speaking, follow these steps…
    1. For most speakers, quickly press and release the speaker’s BT button.  However, with some speakers you may have to press and hold the BT button for a few seconds.  Most speakers make a noise or have a blinking LED to let you know they are in pairing mode. 

      If this does not get you into pairing mode, check your owner’s manual or look for an article pertaining to your specific speaker.
    2. Go into BT settings on your phone.  Search or scan for available devices.
    3. A list of available or discoverable devices will appear on your phone.  Select your speaker.
    4. Two things have just occurred:
      • Your phone and speaker are now paired.
      • Your phone and speaker are now connected so that you can listen to music.
    NOTE:  Just as you can have many people in your phone’s Contacts list, you can have many speakers and headphones in your phone’s paired devices list. 
     
    2. Connecting:  Once you have paired, your phone remembers your speaker, and your speaker remembers your phone. However, the two must connect to play music through the speaker.
    Automatic Re-connection:  Let’s say your speaker is at home in the living room, and you leave for the day. When you come home and are within range of the speaker, your phone will automatically re-connect to it (assuming it is turned on).  You can press play on your phone, and the music will play though your speaker.  Of course, if your speaker is off, you will need to turn it on first. NOTE:  Some speakers make a sound when they re-connect. 

    Automatic re-connection does not always happen.
    • Some phones may not work like this.
    • Someone else may have connected to the speaker.
    • Perhaps you connected to a different speaker while outside of your home.
    Manual Re-connection:  If your device does not automatically re-connect, you can re-connect manually…
    • Go into Bluetooth settings on your phone and make sure BT is on.
    • Select your speaker to re-connect and play music.
    Some speakers allow several phones to be connected at the same time.  Others allow only one at a time.  Therefore, if you are unable to re-connect, it could be that some other phone is connected to the speaker.  In this case…
    • Go into the other phone’s BT settings and disconnect the speaker or turn off BT.
    • Then follow the steps above to manually re-connect your phone to the speaker.
    NOTE:  Do NOT Unpair or Forget the speaker in your phone’s BT settings, as this will require you to repeat the Pairing steps above. 
     
    3. Resetting:  This is a drastic step and should only be done if the unit is not operating correctly. Do NOT reset your speaker every time you want to connect.  Resetting erases all pairings to all phones. You would then have to Unpair or Forget this speaker from each and every phone, and start the pairing process all over again. Check your owner’s manual or look for an article with more detailed BT instructions on your specific speaker or headphone model.
  • If the buttons on your portable speaker are not working properly or are unresponsive while plugged into a power source, please try running the speaker on battery. If the buttons perform correctly while running on battery, this means your power supply is not providing enough current/amps. Be sure to use a power supply that has a rating equal to or greater than the amperage rating indicated in your product specs.
  • The BDS 280/580 or 280S/580S can upscale video signals from its internal drive to UHD format, both DVD and Blu-ray discs. The 280/580 or 280S/580S have pass-through function on the HDMI inputs. They will not upscale standard format or normal HD format video signals that are fed to the HDMI inputs of the 280/580 or 280S/580S. However, 4K or UHD video signals will pass through the BDS directly to the TV screen without processing, as will HD and SD format video. (Bear in mind that this high resolution makes it even more important to use high-quality HDMI cables, especially if they must be several meters long.)
  • Many newer routers with auto detect work really well. But if you experience issues with your product, we advise you to disable this feature and have two visible Wi-Fi networks (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network).
  • No, 4K upscaling is not possible. It was mentioned in the specification sheet and on the web page that this feature was supported, but that is an error.
  • Once the order has been placed, it cannot be changed online. If you want to change your order, please call the phone number posted at the top of this page, and if it has not yet been processed we will change or re-issue a new amended order.
  • You can charge your mobile Phone, but not mobile tablets.
  • Yes, press and hold microphone mute button & volume - button at the same time. A voice will speak up some numbers, that indicate the current software version in your ESQUIRE 2.
  • Yes, hold down the Volume and Bluetooth buttons at the same time. A voice will call out some numbers, and that is the software version on your AURA Studio.
  • Yes, in the HDMI Setup Menu, it is possible to select either �Sound To TV� or �Sound To Amp�, Amp being the AVR. This detail is not mentioned in the owner's manual.
  • Yes, in the HDMI Setup Menu, you can select either Sound To TV or to Amp, (which is the AVR 70). This detail is not mentioned in the owner's manual.
  • Yes. Bluetooth or Auxiliary.
  • You can connect up to two Bluetooth compatible smartphones or tablets at a time to your device.

     

  • Yes. Connect 2 speakers using bluetooth from one source. This is the Wireless Duel Sound feature.
  • Yes. 2 speakers can connect together playing the same music from a single source. This is the Wireless Dual Sound feature.
  • Yes. An auxiliary splitter would be required to connect multiple speakers wired utilizing the auxiliary audio inputs.
  • No, that is not possible. You can only connect it to WiFi through the settings menu of the BDS. Find your WiFi network and type in password, then your BDS is connected to the network. Or you can use LAN connection.
  • No, it is not possible to connect a headphone to your HD 3700.
  • It is not possible to connect the Citation Multibeam 1100 to the Citation Towers.
     
  • Citation will work with any smart home or iOT device labeled Works with Google Assistant. Visit http://assistant.google.com to learn more.
  • Yes, with OMNI+ you can add speakers to both bands, but your smart device is not required to be on the same band, just be sure they are on the same network.
  • Yes, download the Harman Kardon Remote app to do this.
  • Not yet, because this feature is not implemented in our system. We are working on future updates to add the functionality that will make Harman Kardon Allure work in a Multi-room environment.
  • Yes. By using the My JBL Headphones App you can change the equalization settings of the headphone to fit your personal taste. JBL provides you with three presets, or you can adjust the setting of each frequency to create your own personalized EQ

    By using the Samsung SmartThings app, you can change the equalization settings of the speaker to fit your personal taste by adjusting the settings of each frequency to create your personalized EQ:

    • BASS: Adjust the lower frequency sounds, such as bass or a kick drum.

    • MID: Adjust the mid-frequency sounds, such as human speech.

    • TREBLE: Adjust the higher frequency sounds for clarity.

  • Google has licensed Chromecast to OMNI+ speakers only. Therefore, the only way to listen to TuneIn Radio on first-generation OMNI speakers is to use Bluetooth.
  • No, this feature is not supported in our Harman Kardon Allure speaker. This might change with future updates. You can call your Amazon friends by using the Alexa app.
  • Yes, Zone 2 can play compatible contents of a USB stick inserted into the front panel of the receiver.
  • Yes, when unit is on, press and hold Source and Power buttons for about 6-7 seconds.
  • If you want to change Bluetooth source, you may have to reset the Bluetooth system in the AURA. To do this, hold your finger on the input selector field (circle with arrow pointing in) on the side of your AURA for at least 3 seconds. Now the previous source is deleted, and you can pair a new source and play from it.
  • Yes, simply press and hold Volume + & phone button at the same time. When the unit is reset, it will power off, and turn on the unit again, and it is reset.
  • Yes, turn on your Onyx studio 2 and hold down phone button & volume + at the same time. Onyx Studio 2 will power off and when you power it on again, it has been reset.
  • Yes, you can see all voice interactions with the Harman Kardon Allure by using the Alexa app and visiting History in Settings. Your interactions are grouped by question or request. Tap an entry to see more detail, provide feedback, or listen to audio sent to the Cloud for that entry by tapping the play icon. Sometimes Alexa may not understand you perfectly, and the translations you see in History may not always reflect exactly what you said (for example, they may be inaccurate or incomplete). You can help us improve your experience by providing feedback on inaccurate translations in History.
  • Yes, and it is very simple. Choose the custom setup option if you want to manually connect the BDS system to Wi-Fi. To connect the BDS system to a specific Wi-Fi network, you need to enter the Wi-Fi network name and password in the network settings. Confirm the SSID name. Your BDS should now be connected to the WiFi.
  • No, this is not possible.
  • Yes it is possible. Connect any iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch or iPad) to the front panel USB port of the BDS. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your iOS device and that it is currently connected to your wireless home network. NOTE: iOS version 5 or higher is required for iOS Wi-Fi sharing.
    1. Select Configure Wi-Fi by iOS from the Setup Wi-Fi list. A pop-up will be displayed on your iOS device.
    2. Select Allow to confirm that you want to share your Wi-Fi settings.
    3. The connection should now be established automatically. Check the status on your TV for confirmation"
  • Yes. Just connect the analog output from your CD player to the Audio In jack on the back of your Adapt.
  • Yes, you can take can incoming call from the Onyx 4 by pressing the call button located between the power button and volume + button.
  • No, you can only take phone calls when your Go + Play BT/Wireless is connected to a single smartphone. The speaker is designed in this way to protect privacy when it doesn't know which phone is being called. However, some Android phones (e.g. Google Nexus 5) will still transfer the phone call to speaker even when Go + Play BT/Wireless is connected with multiple smartphones. This is caused by the configuration of the phone.
  • Yes. This product has a usb port for charging other devices.
  • No, it cannot play SACD disc.
  • No, it will only play stereo CD disc.
  • Yes. Go into our HK Alexa Setup app, tap on the 3 line icon and click on "Lightning" to toggle it on and off.
  • PureVoice is default ON when you turn on the soundbar. You may turn OFF PureVoice by using the LCD touch display. On the touchscreen, swipe to the Settings page, then tap Audio -> PureVoice to enable or disable PureVoice.
     
  • Yes, When an update is available, you will find this on the product website of the Harman Kardon Aura Studio 2, in Manuals and Downloads. You will need to connect your Harman Kardon Aura Studio 2 by USB, and run the software update from a compatible computer.
  • No, upgrade can only be performed with a USB stick. There is no danger to the receiver if you try to upgrade through the wireless network, though.
  • No, the Allure speaker requires an internet connection in order to use Alexa voice commands. You can always listen to music via the Bluetooth connection if you are out of range with your Wi-Fi network
  • No, stereo pairs must be two of the same type of speaker. For example, two Omni 10 or two Omni 10+ speakers will work, but not one Omni 10 and one Omni 10+.
  • The Adapt can be powered from any USB port providing 1 amp current, but Harman recommends using the supplied power adapter.
  • Yes, when out of range of your Wi-Fi network, you can use the Bluetooth or analog auxiliary connection. The OMNI 50+ has a built-in battery as well to take the speaker out of the house.
  • Yes, simply connect an AUX (phono) cable from TV to your AURA.
  • No, When connected from multiple mobile devices ( up to 3 ) to one Harman Dual Sound enabled speaker, only the last one that connected will stay connected when enabling Harman Dual Sound. You can however connect from one mobile device to one of the 2 Harman Dual Sound enabled speakers, and activate Dual Sound afterwards. This will give you the option to interrupt the playback, in the same way as Social Mode works when connected to only one speaker.
  • No, this is a limitation from Google that requires every speaker to have a special license. First generation OMNI speakers do not have such license.
  • Yes. This product has a microphone.
  • It is possible to connect both HDMI and optical to the TV input at the same time, but HDMI will be prioritized over optical. Switching manually from HDMI to optical is not possible.
  • Streaming via Bluetooth or direct aux in connection are supported without the HK Controller app. For OMNI+ devices that you already have placed in a room, they are capable of using either Spotify Connect or Chromecast built-in without the need of using the HK Controller app. Use only the HK Controller app for setting up any OMNI+ devices you may have.
  • Yes, in case your Wi-Fi does not work then simply press and hold the Bluetooth button for 3 seconds, your speaker is now in pairing mode. The button is located on the back where you connect the power cord. Please be aware that Alexa will not work on Bluetooth.
  • There is a buffer inside the speakers that processes the incoming signal. This buffer delays the audio signal compared to the video signal, causing a delay. For this, we do not recommend using Omni+ speakers with a TV. Our Omni bar will work with your TV sound and you can create wireless 5.1 surround sound system with the Omni bar.
  • Yes, you can easily charge your OMNI 50+ while charging another device via USB port.
  • No, only analog audio sources are available for Zone II.
